When We Forget Who We Are

Sunday is for poetry and rest.  I added a new poem to my Intermission Poetry collection.  I hope today is better than yesterday, and tomorrow is forgotten.

Sad for Today

We live in the saddest of times

It’s not the worst of times, nor the best

It’s now the time, that we cannot rest

If life was different then

Would now be so different?

We thought when we woke

We’d change the world with our stroke

Of our own beautiful design

But what did we find?

Sublime, subversion, subjection

We live in the saddest of times

Because our time is not now

But tomorrow and then

And our time is insufficient

When we live it then

Or, just when

It will happen

It will be

If only

We live in the saddest of times

Because our time is up

To not ourselves, but another

Have  a splendid day of seeking and searching for what makes you happy.

Goodnight Gracie! 🙂 ❤
